Hillary Pearson


Hillary Pearson is a dancer, dance teacher, and choreographer based in Philadelphia. Pearson graduated from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University with a degree in dance. During her time there she worked with artists such as Stefanie Batten Bland and Julie Bour. Upon receiving her bachelors in dance, Hillary has danced with Company Stefanie Batten Bland, Robert Mark Dance and Antonia & Artists. Pearson's choreography has been shown in New Jersey at Rutgers University and Crossroads Theater, she also presented work in the 2016 Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Currently, Hillary teaches modern technique in Princeton, New Jersey.​

Pilar Yvonne


Pilar Yvonne is a choreographer and freelance dancer originally from Minneapolis, MN. She studied dance at Cornish College of the Arts, and the University of Minnesota, where she trained in Cunningham, Graham, Horton, Limon, and Alexander technique. Post college she has studied and explored styles including Gaga, Hip Hop/Breaking, and contemporary; all of which inform how she creates and teaches movement classes. The last few years she has lived in Montréal, New Orleans, and recently moved to Philadelphia.

This co-created, high energy, modern based movement class is geared toward the intermediate and advanced dancer. Pilar and Hillary combine their unique aesthetics to co-teach a challenging post modern dance class. The class is structured to rearrange and create new pathways of the body through body-mind centering, fluid floor work, and intricate phrases.The class will move in and out of the floor with focus on the fluidity of transitions and the integration/organization of the spine and pelvis, within the choreographed movement. The significant use of inversions and floor work will be used to strengthen, challenge and develop a new partnership with the floor. 
Be advised that this class is high intensity with a lot of in and out of the floor, so please wear layers that cover your limbs. Knee pads are recommended, but not required.
