The Performance Garage welcomes students and recent graduates who are interested in gaining experience in the field of non-profit arts administration! We are committed to providing interns with an educational and hands-on experience managing a non-profit performing arts venue in Philadelphia.

Marketing & Design Intern

Ixchel Mendez

 Ixchel Mendez is a dancer and performing artist with an aptitude for design wether that be in a dance studio, a costume workroom or on a computer screen. Ixchel is a recent graduate of The University of the Arts with a BFA in Dance Performance and a minor in Musical Theatre. She has trained most heavily in classical ballet with additional training in modern and jazz techniques. While at school she has trained with choreographers such as Sidra Bell, Matthew Neenan and Ronen Koresh. Ixchel is now dancing with DanceFusion Dance company as an apprentice dancer. Ixchel has always been a child of the arts, dance and theatre and for that she is grateful. 


Ixchel is happy to have become the newest member of the Performance Garage family for the Fall of 2015. 

Administrative Intern

Sean Thomas Boyt

Sean Thomas Boyt is a dancer and choreographer based in Philadelphia.  He currently dances for The Naked Stark, Nora Gibson Contemporary Ballet, and Anne-Marie Mulgrew & Dancers Company; collaborates as part of stb x at and SKI BALL; and works with Antonia & Artists, Vervet Dance, & Kat J. Sullivan.


Sean holds a B.F.A. in Dance and a Certificate in Performing Arts Entrepreneurship from the University of Iowa.  He was a member of Dancers in Company, the Events Coordinator for the Undergraduate Dance Organization, and an instructor at the University of Iowa Youth Ballet.

Marketing & Design Internship


Seeking a design saavy and detail oriented person to assit with the Performance Garage's marketing intiatives.  Primary responsibilities include creating marketing materials such as posters, our montly e-newsletter, website content updates, and social media posts. Assistance during the Gala Fundraiser on Saturday, April 2, 2016 is mandatory.

Development: Special Events Internship


Seeking a hospitality guru to assist organizing and implementing the 2016 Gala Celebration & Fundraiser.  Primary responsibilities include helping organize the event, assisting with related administrative tasks, managing donations and acknowledgements, researching sponsorship opportunities, creating event materials, interacting with donors, and participating in event preparations and day-of activities.  Assistance during the Gala Fundraiser event on Saturday, April 2, 2016 is mandatory.
