Instructor Biography

Inspired by her grandmother, who danced professionally in NYC, Lee-Ann’s love for dance began at a young age. She grew up training in ballet, jazz, tap, and modern dance in Southern Maryland. Lee-Ann earned a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of Maryland, where she focused on her own choreographic development. She has performed in Maryland Dance Ensemble and presented pieces for Maryland Choreographer’s Showcase. She danced professionally for the NBA’s Washington Wizards dance team for three seasons and worked with Momentum Dance Theater, a modern dance collaborative in Washington, DC. Lee-Ann has been teaching dance to children and adults for over 12 years; specializing in jazz technique, ballet barre, modern, and tap dance instruction. Lee-Ann is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200). She enjoys the sharing her passion for movement with others and contributing to the ever-growing exchange of performing arts in Philly!

Musical Theater Jazz with Lee-Ann focuses on musicality, performance, and traditional jazz dance foundations. Class begins with a warm-up revolved around footwork and elements of jazz dance technique and builds with across-the-floor movement progressions, including walks, turns, and leap combinations. Students will learn new choreography each week to promote continued growth and development with their performance skills and overall familiarity with musical theater jazz.
