Biography

Roger Lee Dance Company is an award-winning contemporary jazz dance company based in Philadelphia, PA. They have produced two concert series per year since their 2012 debut (15 to date) and performed for over 20,000 people at major events including Philadanco's Founders Day Concert, WaWa Welcome America Festival, and Democratic National Convention. The company's founder, producing artistic director, choreographer, and principal dancer Roger Lee, M.S., has 18 years of experience as an award-winning dance professional. He performed for Grammy Award-winning artists and a former United States Vice President live on national television, taught master classes at the world-renowned Joffrey Ballet School and Broadway Center, starred in his own instructional dance fitness video, over 50 media features, and a TEDx Talk, wrote two e-books, and taught dance, arts integration, arts administration, and entrepreneurship as an adjunct professor at several regional universities.

Roger Lee Dance Company presents its 15th concert series Diary this fall. The family-friendly show runs for approximately 90 minutes (with an intermission and Q & A session) and features live dance, music, and visual art inspired by 8 diary entries from audience members. The show is produced, directed, and choreographed by Roger Lee, stars dancers Roger Lee, Jasmine Newsome, Myles Mungo, Ashley Coates, and Caitlin Green and musicians Kevin Thomas and Luis Rosario, and features artwork by Terrence Harris of Harris Bros Art.
