Company Biography

Reflections Dance Company is a modern dance company at Temple University, founded in 2014, by student Allie Kaminsky. The company focuses primarily on modern and contemporary technique, but there are aspects of jazz, ballet, and other styles of dance within the company and the subsequent performances. The company gives dancers an outlet to express creativity outside of the stressful environment of college, with bi-weekly practices and other opportunities for movement expression. There are performances at least once a semester, with opportunities for collaboration with other organizations on Temple’s campus. With a dancer count of 32, the company is growing quickly and developing into a tight-knit family.

2:00 PM & 5:00 PM

Cost: $5

Eloquence meets grit in this modern dance performance by Reflections Dance Company, a contemporary group founded at Temple University. With four sets, all themed uniquely, the show offers an outlet of creativity like no other. The spectator should be prepared to be moved through the movement of others, with performances by dancers about self-image, solidarity, nostalgia, luminescence, and more. All of the performances are choreographed, rehearsed and danced by current Temple University undergraduate students. The event will have two showings, with one being at 2 PM and the other at 5 PM. The entry fee is $5, however, students who present a Temple University ID will only have to pay $2. Tickets will be sold ahead of time, as well as on the day of the show. There will be a 15 minute intermission in the middle of the show. Before the show or during the intermission, audience members may enter to win raffle baskets or the 50/50. Please come support the arts and this beautiful, student run organization.
